Position Summary

Lead the Work. Help Develop the Team.

The Senior Auditor leads day-to-day fieldwork on audit and attest engagements, coordinates assigned staff and helps ensure engagements are completed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with firm methodology and professional standards.

This role serves as a key client contact during fieldwork, translates planning decisions into clear work assignments and supports staff and interns through practical coaching and timely feedback.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Leadership

  • Lead assigned audit, review, compilation and other attest engagement areas through completion.
  • Supervise staff and interns during fieldwork.
  • Perform and document complex audit procedures.
  • Prepare and review workpapers for completeness, accuracy and manager review.
  • Review financial statements, disclosures and client deliverables.
  • Identify audit issues, control matters and project delays and recommend next steps.
  • Monitor budgets, deadlines and workflow status.

Client Service & Communication

  • Build productive working relationships with client contacts.
  • Help manage client expectations during fieldwork.
  • Provide status updates and communicate priority requests and deliverable timing.
  • Draft professional client correspondence.
  • Assist with PBC requests, sample selections and unresolved audit questions.

Team Leadership

  • Provide on-the-job training to staff and interns.
  • Coach team members on documentation, communication, time management and firm tools.
  • Review staff work and provide practical, constructive feedback.
  • Model accountability by staying organized and communicating progress.
  • Help create a positive team environment where others can succeed.
Background

Qualifications

✓
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
✓
CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred.
✓
Generally 3–6 years of audit experience in public accounting or comparable professional services.
✓
Strong understanding of GAAP, audit methodology, workpaper standards and professional standards.
✓
Experience with closely held businesses, nonprofits, governmental entities, churches, employee benefit plans or similar clients is helpful.
✓
Microsoft Office and audit software proficiency.
