KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF CAS MANAGER

The CAS department at AFairchild is expanding and in search of a CAS Manager to offer support and guidance to our clients and team. The CAS Manager will collaborate with a diverse clientele, ranging from the construction and manufacturing sectors to professional services, transportation, non-profits, and various other fields.

Applicants must possess the ability to work autonomously within a team setting. Responsibilities include rectifying historical financial records and monitoring client-specific time tracking. QuickBooks, both desktop and online versions, along with other software, are extensively utilized. Candidates should have a solid grasp of QuickBooks and comprehensive general ledger accounting expertise, encompassing accounts payable, construction in progress, bank reconciliations, payroll, reconciliations across multiple entities, and sales tax compliance.

  • Oversee and coordinate staff deliverables, ensuring the prompt completion of client accounting tasks, payroll tax returns, property tax returns, and sales tax returns across multiple states as necessitated by client operations.
  • External audit of financial statements:
  • Performed and lead audit engagements using analytics and substantive testing.
  • Conducted interviews for documentation of internal controls and assessed audit risk.
  • Identified, planned, and tested controls; presented findings and recommended actions to management.
  • Prepared audit reports in accordance with GAAP and GASB.
  • Experience with the following types of entities: Governmental, Regulatory, Non-profit, Health Care and
  • Provide accounting transactions and support to clients 
  • Reconcile bank accounts, process accounts payable, and process accounts receivable 
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of financials 
  • Communicate with clients 
  • Prepare and process payroll, payroll returns, sales tax returns, and property tax returns. 
  • Assist with tax preparation as needed 
  • Meet multiple filing deadlines 
  • Research accounting and tax issues, discrepancies, and irregularities 
  • Special projects as needed 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related 
  • CPA preferred but not required 
  • Minimum 3 years in Public Accounting  
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Experience with QuickBooks – desktop and online  
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial statement presentation  
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
