About the Company and Opportunity:

As our company expands, we are on the lookout for seasoned professionals to occupy new roles. Presently, we seek a Tax Senior. Your willingness to examine the list of qualifications and submit an application for the role is greatly valued. Candidates who may not meet all the qualifications but possess adequate experience and skill will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate tax return preparation, tax audits, and responses to notices with external tax advisors
  • Respond to all tax notices from the IRS and various tax jurisdictions and any audit requests
  • Responding to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested
  • Maintaining detailed workpapers to support the tax provisions and tax returns
  • Provide timely and accurate information to clients on ongoing personal tax issues
  • Participate in the tax planning process by reviewing planning projects completed by staff
  • Prepare and/or review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
  • Develop, coordinate, and supervise projects of tax staff
  • Build and maintain client relationships and proactively interact to gather information, resolve tax-related issues, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Tax research, consultation, and preparation of client memorandum
  • Develop and motivate tax associates by reviewing their work and providing them with counseling, leadership, and career guidance
  • Ability to lead tax staff and others in ensuring work is completed with high quality and in a timely manner
  • Manage the quarterly federal and state estimated income tax payments and annual extensions
  • Review tax returns, tax research, tax communications, and other requested deliverables

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters of tax preferred)
  • CPA certification or eligibility is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required
  • Working knowledge of Forms 990, 5500, 1040, 1120, 1065
